As part of our product testing services, we are currently running field trials across Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Moldova.
In Serbia, we are running product testing trials together with our members Ralco and Lithos, examining how inoculants and biostimulants affect soybean development at key growth stages. From nodule formation to overall crop performance and resilience, we are tracking results under real field conditions – together with local advisory services and an accredited laboratory.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, we are working with our member BIMAL (IRUP) on multi-location variety and input trials across five sites. Several soybean varieties from leading breeders are being tested alongside biological preparations from our members Biofor System and Nexus Pro Agro. The aim goes beyond comparing yields: we want to understand how different varieties respond to shifting climate conditions – drought, heat, and changing rainfall patterns – across diverse growing environments.
In Moldova, our member Protealis tested eight spring pea varieties at the National Centre for Research and Seed Production in the northern part of the country. Early results are encouraging: Protealis varieties showed clear advantages, particularly in lodging resistance. This trial is part of our wider multicrop approach – building a more resilient and diverse protein supply that goes beyond soya and works at the farm level.
These activities are carried out within the framework of the strategic partnership between Donau Soja and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA).
