Launch of Donau Soja / Europe Soya Standard version 2024

8 February, 2024

Donau Soja has published the new Donau Soja & Europe Soya Standard and Guidelines, Version 2024 (valid from: 1.1.2024). The main purpose of the standard revision 2024 was the necessary alignment of the Donau Soja / Europe Soya standard with new EU legal requirements.

In particular, the new version was aligned with the requirements of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which entered into force on 29 June 2023 and will be applicable form harvest 2024. This is an important step to support all Donau Soja partners, who will be required to demonstrate compliance with the new EU regulation from end of 2024 when placing soya products on the EU market or exporting them from the EU market.

The Donau Soja / Europe Soya Standard and Guidelines were also aligned with the requirements of the EU Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) for the period 2023-2027. The new requirements include further specifications on crop rotation and mandatory cover crops in the most sensitive period to improve soil health and avoid erosion.

The new version of the Donau Soja / Europe Soya Standards & Guidelines is available on the Donau Soja website.
