LUNTER tofu blocks with fresh parsley and soybeans – Europe Soya carbon footprint study

Together with The New Originals Company, we are showcasing how sourcing certified European soya can significantly reduce the carbon footprint of tofu production. The first Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) study for tofu made with Europe Soya-certified soybeans, conducted by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) Austria, delivers a clear result.

Switching from an average soya mix to Europe Soya-certified soya reduces CO₂ emissions by 30% per kilogramme of LUNTER tofu (plain and smoked). The Europe Soya Standard ensures that all soybeans are grown deforestation- and conversion-free and are fully non-GMO. Farmers follow strict sustainability requirements, including responsible land management and biodiversity protection.

Every bean used for LUNTER tofu supports regional value creation, transparent supply chains, and verifiable climate performance — proof that the choice of certification is the strongest lever for climate efficiency in plant-based food production.
