Regenerative Agriculture in Croatia

From theory to field: Farmers explore Regenerative Agriculture in Croatia

13 August, 2025

Farmers and experts visit a field in Croatia to learn about regenerative agriculture practices such as crop rotation and reduced tillage.

On 10 June, Donau Soja led a study tour to Croatian farms where regenerative practices are actively applied. Farmers from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina had the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning and peer-to-peer exchange.

The visit showcased real-life implementation of no-till and conservation tillage, cover cropping, legume-based crop rotations, and optimised use of chemical inputs. These practices support healthier soils, greater biodiversity, and more resilient, sustainable farming systems – laying the groundwork for the future of agriculture in Europe.
