The latest Non-GM Market Report (November 2025), published jointly by Donau Soja, ENGA and ProTerra, provides an up-to-date assessment of non-GM soya, maize and rapeseed supply in Europe and key global origins. The report highlights significant shifts in global production patterns that are expected to influence European markets in the 2025 to 2026 season.
EU non-GM soya supply remains stable overall. Strong yields in Italy, Austria and Germany are helping to compensate for regional shortfalls in the Balkans and Romania. In contrast, Brazil is experiencing a pronounced decline in non-GM soya production, reaching only 1.5 to 2.0 million tonnes. This marks a twenty-year low and is expected to reshape global import flows in the coming season.
Ukraine continues to consolidate its position as a key supplier of non-GM soya and maize to Europe, with export relevance increasing year-on-year. Meanwhile, EU maize production is approaching a fifteen-year low. Despite this, market availability remains steady due to substantial stocks and continued strong imports.
The report also notes a sharp rebound in EU rapeseed production, which has increased by more than 19 percent compared to the previous year. This recovery is set to support supply stability in the vegetable oil and protein markets.
