Recent benchmark assessments and reports confirm the credibility and robustness of Donau Soja and Europe Soya as leading sustainability standards for soya. Our standards have been successfully benchmarked against several international frameworks, including the Food for Biodiversity initiative, the FEFAC Soy Sourcing Guidelines (Version 2023), and the International Trade Centre (ITC) Standards Map. In addition, the latest Profundo report highlights the role of Donau Soja and Europe Soya in supporting compliance with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

Biodiversity protection – measurable and visible
Biodiversity protection is the foundation of our food system and lies at the heart of every farmer’s work – and at the heart of Donau Soja. Our standards achieve 76% of the Food for Biodiversity basic set and are recommended by Food for Biodiversity. This means that companies using Donau Soja and Europe Soya are contributing to biodiversity protection – and can credibly demonstrate this in their ESG reporting. Read more here: LINK

EUDR postponed – but due diligence for importers remains

While the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) has been postponed and simplified, primary operators still carry full due diligence obligations and must prove deforestation-free sourcing. Donau Soja and Europe Soya support companies in meeting these requirements – as confirmed by the latest Profundo report, commissioned by WWF Brazil and WWF Germany, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the AgriChains Brazil programme of GIZ. The report highlights the strong role of our standards in supporting EUDR compliance. Read the report: LINK

Recognition of our standards by the European Feed Manufacturers’ Federation (FEFAC) & International Trade Centre (ITC)

Our standards have also been successfully benchmarked against the FEFAC Soy Sourcing Guidelines (Version 2023) and the ITC Standards Map. The results are now completed and publicly available, further reinforcing the robustness of Donau Soja and Europe Soya. LINK
