Donau Soja has recently established two demonstrative fields in Moldova in collaboration with our long-term partners, National Centre of Seed Research and Production (IP CNCPS) and Farmer Household Agro-Panfil on 24-25 April. The demo fields are meant to showcase best practices in cultivation of soya and other legumes such as beans and peas in the context of climate change adaptation.
The demonstrative field at IP CNCPS will include three demonstrative lots that aim at testing the performance of local Moldovan and foreign varieties of soybean, beans and peas, which will contribute to identifying the most productive, climate-resistant and adapted varieties for farmers.
The demonstrative field at Farmer Household Agro-Panfil will also include soybean, beans and peas, focusing on showcasing the benefits of no-till technologies and irrigation, such as increasing crop production efficiency, improving soil health and maximizing water use, while providing a demonstration model for farmers and agricultural institutions.
Everyone interested will be able to visit the demonstrative fields during Donau Soja activities that will be organised in the summer period. As a result of these experiences, recommendations for local farmers will be shared. Details will be announced late – stay tuned!
This activity is implemented within the Strategic Partnership project with ADA.
