Certified deforestation-free, non-GM and guaranteed European*: Europe Soya is growing Europe’s protein-rich, independent future – bean by bean. Discover the many good reasons to choose our certified soya.

The Donau Soja Standard grows –
and becomes Europe Soya

The Donau Soja Standard and the Europe Soya Standard are merging into one shared quality standard for Europe. The clearest sign of this: our certification will carry the name Europe Soya going forward. The Donau Soja Organisation remains unchanged – we are simply expanding the scope of the standard to cover all of Europe.

Whether in soya products or in products from animals fed with Europe Soya: whenever you see the Europe Soya seal, you can count on these advantages over imported soya.

One standard, eight benefits

Guaranteed from here

Where it says Europe Soya, only Europe is inside: every farmer producing our certified soya is based in Europe – with the highest standards and a clear conscience guaranteed.

The technology we’re happy to do without

Europe Soya stands for non-GM soya – we certify cultivation as well as every subsequent step in the value chain, from storage and transport to processing. And: products from animals fed with Europe Soya can also carry the “produced without genetic engineering” label – a clear added value for consumers.

Fewer pesticides, more pollination

Only plant protection products approved in the EU may be used – and that is significant stricter than what is typically the case for conventionally grown imported soya.* Good news for the insects doing vital pollination work on and around our fields.

No deforestation or land conversion

Europe Soya is only grown on farmland that has existed since before 2008*. No forests are cleared for it — unlike much of the soya imported from overseas.

Reduced greenhouse gas emissions

Our farmers make an important contribution to climate protection: regional, European soya production generates significantly fewer CO₂ emissions than overseas imports*.

Compliance with international social and labour law

With imported soya, it is often impossible to know the real conditions under which it was produced. With Europe Soya, you can be certain that international and EU social and labour law requirements – the ILO Standards – are strictly followed. This guarantees fair working conditions and, above all, no child labour*.

The three-tier path to our seal

We start with self-monitoring by production operations and mandatory quality assurance systems. In the second tier, independent certification bodies accredited to ISO/IEC 17065 audit and certify the operations. The third tier consists of system audits carried out by Donau Soja itself – or by qualified external auditors supporting us in this process

Traceability across the entire supply chain

Our certification ensures that Europe Soya products are kept separate from non-certified products and clearly labelled throughout the entire supply chain. This means full transparency – from the primary product, through all certified partner operations, all the way to you.

Discover where the future grows

What began in the Danube Region with Donau Soja is today a Europe-wide project. Europe Soya supports Europe’s path towards a more independent protein supply – bean by bean.
