Training session at the premises of our member Astarta Agroholding
On July 9, the second event of the “Soya Without Compromise” series took place in the Khmelnytskyi region, hosted by Astarta Agroholding. The first event of the series was held in the Poltava region in May.
This time, participants discussed the factors that are already shaping the competitiveness of Ukrainian soybeans on the European market: requirements for conventional soybean cultivation, changes in the use of plant protection products, certification, and export opportunities to EU countries. A separate session focused on the adaptation of Ukrainian agricultural production to European regulations. The discussion covered how new EU requirements will affect soybean cultivation, the use of plant protection products, quality control, and product traceability. For soybean producers, this is particularly relevant, as compliance with European requirements is becoming an important prerequisite for accessing the EU market and expanding exports of Ukrainian non-GM soybeans.
Donau Soja was pleased to take part and share our expertise and vision on the production of non-GM soybeans.

International Seminar “Conservation Agriculture and Adaptation of Crops to Climate Change: Crop Rotation, Modern Technologies, and Testing of Industrial Hemp and Soybean Varieties in the Republic of Moldova”
On 24 July, Donau Soja Moldova participated in the international seminar titled “Conservation Agriculture and Adaptation of Crops to Climate Change: Crop Rotation, Modern Technologies, and Testing of Industrial Hemp and Soybean Varieties in the Republic of Moldova”, organised by the National Center for Seed Research and Production (CNCPS) in partnership with the Agricultural and Rural Advisory Center of the Republic of Moldova (CCAR).
The seminar was dedicated to the implementation of the Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) and is part of the Republic of Moldova’s Economic Growth Plan for 2025–2027 and brought together 80 participants from Moldova, Ukraine and Romania.
Our colleague, Ela Malai, presented the goal of breeding non-GM soybean in the Republic of Moldova, highlighting two main directions for breeding of soybeans:
- adaptation and resilience to climate change and improved yield;
- quality for food use with increased protein content.
During the event, participants also visited the Donau Soja soybean demo platform dedicated to testing of local and Austrian soybean varieties with the aim of providing recommendations for farmers regarding variety selection, crop management, and irrigation technologies adapted to specific conditions of the central region of Moldova.
This work is carried out within the framework of the strategic partnership between Donau Soja and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA).

Field Day “UCAB Agrotechnologies 2026. West”: Technology, Demonstrations and Partnership in Ukraine
On July 30, the team of Donau Soja took part in the UCAB Agrotechnologies 2026. West Field Day, held under the slogan “Only Winning Solutions for Agribusiness. West.” The event took place at the facilities of Zakhidnyi Buh, a partner of the Donau Soja Organisation, in the Lviv region. The event brought together representatives of the agricultural sector, producers, partners, and industry experts.
The main focus was on practical solutions for modern agribusiness. Participants had the opportunity not only to learn about new technologies but also to see agricultural machinery operating directly in real field conditions. In addition to machinery demonstrations, the Field Day provided a platform for professional dialogue and networking. Participants discussed current challenges facing the agricultural sector, new technologies, the efficiency of production solutions, and prospects for further industry development.
Donau Soja also joined the event, presenting its activities and vision for the development of responsible non-GM soybean production in Ukraine. For us, participation in industry events like this is an important opportunity to maintain an ongoing dialogue with farmers, partners, and business representatives, discuss current challenges, and jointly develop solutions for the further development of Ukraine’s agricultural sector.
