Donau Soja trained three inspection bodies in Moldova
On 25 – 26 June 2019 the Donau Soja Organisation conducted a two-day basic training in Chisinau for the inspection bodies “CERES Branch Moldova”, “Control Union Dnjestr” and “SGS Moldova”. This training took place in the framework of the EU funded project: “Increasing the competitiveness of the agri-food sector through integration to domestic and global value chains in particular in the soya sector”, implemented by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) jointly with Donau Soja Organisation, Austria and Pro Didactica, Moldova and in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova.
In addition to the inspection bodies, two representatives of the Moldovan Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment as well as a journalist from AgroBiznes took advantage of this training opportunity. Beside the theoretical preparation on audit procedures of the Donau Soja and Europe Soya Standard as well as the Non-GM Danube Region Standard, the participants also received an audit simulation at a storage facility of a soybean producer (farmer) including a sampling process and rapid GM strip tests (Round-up Ready and Liberty Link) for both soybeans and green leaves, showing that Non-GMO was detected.
