Training for Moldovan soybean producers and collectors, 6 August 2019
On 6 August 2019 the Donau Soja Organisation conducted a one-day basic training for Moldovan soybean farmers and collectors in Balti. Seven farmers and two agricultural collectors took part in the training as well as eight inspectors from National Agency of Food Safety of Moldova, who did not miss this training opportunity. In addition to the theoretical preparation on audit procedures for the Donau Soja and Europe Soya Standards, participants received relevant information regarding inspection procedures and the certification requirements.
Furthermore the possibilities of improving the entire value chain, building future partnerships and implementing relevant quality standards which are prerequisite competitiveness and access to (new) markets in the European Union, were demonstrated.
As a practical example of GM-detection, rapid GM strip tests (Round-up Ready and Liberty Link) for soybean products were carried out.
The „Farmer training on Donau Soja/Europe Soya Standards in Moldova”, was organised in the framework of EU funded project: “Increasing the competitiveness of the agri-food sector through integration to domestic and global value chains in particular in the soya sector”, implemented by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) in partnership with Donau Soja Austria, Donau Soja Representative office in Chisinau and Moldovan NGO Pro Didactica in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova.
